Recommended slate for Labour’s NEC

15th February 2014

Recommended slate for Labour’s NEC

In view of their votes to accept the Collins Report at the meeting of the Labour Party’s National Executive Committee on 4th February, the Labour Representative Committee is no longer willing to support Ken Livingstone and Ann Black in their campaign for re-election to the NEC.

The Collins’ Report, and its implications for the future character of the Party, are so fundamental that we do not feel we can support candidates not willing to oppose these changes. .This is explained in our statement here.

We are grateful to Christine Shawcroft and Dennis Skinner for voting against these changes

We continue to support, and urge constituencies to nominate, the other 4 candidates on the Centre Left Grassroots Alliance slate for the NEC – Kate Osamor, Christine Shawcroft, Darren Williams and Pete Willsman.
Please also support Diana Holland for Party Treasurer and Gary Heather and Veronica Killen for the NCC.

Rail bosses are using the recession as an excuse to attack jobs and conditions and cut back on services and essential rail works, and hike rail fares - as LEAP research suggested they would. Thousands of jobs are being threatened or have been lost. At the same time rail fat cats are raking in big profits and bonuses on the back of the most expensive fares in Europe. Make no mistake: as the recession worsens so will the attack on rail workers and rail services. [continue...]
