The Prime Minister Gordon Brown has today confirmed that another 500 more troops will be sent to Afghanistan, taking the total UK deployment to 10,000.
John McDonnell MP, LRC Chair, said:
“The British Government is going out on a limb by sending more troops to an unwinnable war.”
“It is merely sending more targets for the Taliban, when what is needed is a clear withdrawal strategy and timetable.”
