New book launched - The Red paper on Scotland 2014 - class, nation and socialism
This book sets to promote a radical Labour movement alternative to independence and the status quo. The book examines a range of issues including the economy, energy, taxation, health, local government, sport and much, much more and takes the view that it is serious political change across the UK and beyond that is required if we are to challenge the current neo liberal hegemony.
There are contributions from a range of people including – Dave Watson (UNISON), Richard Leonard (GMB), Katy Clark (MP),Neil Findlay (MSP for Lothians) Lyn Henderson (PCS), Professor John Foster (CPGB), David Conway (Socialist health association), Tommy Kane, Dave Shaw, Eric Shaw (Stirling University), Gordon Munro (Edinburgh Council Labour group), Mathew Crichton (Edinburgh Labour Party), Kevin Lindsay (ASLEF) academics Dr Muir Houston and Chik Collins, Roz Foyer and Jackson Cullinane (UNITE), Stephen Smillie (UNISON) and many more.
The book is available for £11.00 including postage – from the Centre for Workbased learning, Glasgow Caledonian University, Cowcaddens Road, Glasgow, G4 0BA).
