DEFEND THE LINK! FIGHT AUSTERITY
LRC ANNUAL CONFERENCE - CALLED FOR 23 NOVEMBER 2013
PRESS RELEASE: 9 AUGUST 2013
The LRC wishes to encourage everyone who can to attend both LRC conference and the Labour Assembly Against Austerity. Accordingly, the LRC has taken the unprecedented decision to delay its 2013 conference until Saturday 23 November. LRC annual conference will still take place from 10am to 5pm at the Conway Hall, 25 Red Lion Square, London WC1R 4RL and the LRC thanks the Conway Hall for its co-operation in facilitating this change of date. Under the banner “Defend the Link! Fight Austerity”, 2013 LRC conference will focus on the need to defend the Labour Party’s trade union link in order to better fight austerity policies.
By taking this early action to avoid a clash of two major events for the British Left, the LRC hopes that every socialist who wants to can now attend both LRC annual conference on Saturday 23 November and the Labour Assembly Against Austerity on Saturday 9 November.
The Labour Representation Committee (LRC) was one of the first organisations to back the idea of a Labour Assembly Against Austerity, and has been consistently listed as a supporter of that event.
