This year will be a key year for our movement. There is a political consensus among the leadership of the three main parties that the public services should be cut to pay for the crisis. Therefore, in the 2010 General Election, the LRC will be campaigning to support Labour candidates who have stood up for socialist politics.
As agreed by our National Committee and in line with our 2009 annual conference, we will therefore be supporting candidates who are (or would become) members of the Socialist Campaign Group of MPs and those who backed (or would have backed) John McDonnell’s leadership bid in 2007.
