Wednesday 30th September 2009
7:30pm to 9:30pm
The mainstream political parties all want to cut public spending - public sector jobs, pensions and benefits - and privatise our welfare state. Yet, at a time of recession, the government’s happy to hand-out billions of tax-payers’ money to the big Bankers without placing any demands on them!
But the People’s Charter can provide a real alternative to Bankers’ Britain. Already it has gained the support of 18 national trade unions, a range of community groups and over 30 MPs (Labour, independent, SNP and Plaid Cymru).
Come and hear what’s going on - and get involved locally!
Speakers include: Bob Crow (RMT General Secretary), Mark Palfrey (London CWU Divisional Rep), Prof Mary Davis (UCU London Met)
The Red Rose Club (back hall), 129 Seven Sisters Rd, London N7 7QG
(Accessible to wheelchair-users)
(4 mins walk west of Finsbury Park Tube. Buses: 29, 253, 254, 279, 4, 91,153, 259)
All friends and supporters welcome
