What is the Labour Left able to do to support the most vulnerable from attack from the coalition ? I would like to see the Left leading the campaign against the savage attack on benefits which is now under way. This attack is based on an acceleration of the welfare ‘reform’ policies of New Labour.

Robert don’t give up! People are increasingly becoming conscious that our democracy is flawed. That the vast majority have no voice. Nearly 110 years ago a Labout Representation Committee was formed with aim of founding the Labour party.
Today’s LRC has the function of once again making Labour Party the party it was intended to be, the party of working people - which is anyone who relies on their pay to survive and anyone who is struggling to survive on benefits if they are without a job.
A lot of people have been fed a diet of lies and spin about the unemployed and about their own position in ‘middle England’. We need to put forward a contrary view and argue strongly but patiently for it.
This needs to be done inside the party and outside it (to encourage them to join/re-join the party).
We also need discussions about how to change the party rules to return Labour to its more democratic roots.
So don’t leave and don’t de-register, stay in and get active in any way you can.
