Hi to all
As a LP member, and a new member of the LRC, I would like to know what is the position of the LRC on the Gary McKinnon case?
I have Aspergers Syndrome myself, and a younger brother with more severe autism, and as such it is a personal commitment of mine to fight for better support for those with Autistic Spectrum Disorders. And the treatment of Gary has been utterly repugnant, and clearly shows the one sided nature of the “special relationship” that we have with the US.
I have put pressure on our local MP, Barbara Keeley, but she is the Deputy Leader of the House of Commons, and as such supports the government line firmly. I have also e-mailed Tony Benn, who advised me to keep up the pressure on her. But she will not change her position.
Any help would be much appreciated, thank you.

As I recall, the LRC campaigned against the extradition law under which Gary McKinnon is being extradited.
10 Labour MPs backed a review of the law - arising because of the McKinnon case - in a parliamentary vote in July. They were: Jeremy Corbyn, Jim Devine, Paul Flynn, Kate Hoey, Lynne Jones, Andrew Mackinlay, John McDonnell, Mohammad Sarwar, Alan Simpson and Keith Vaz.
