The Parliamentary Labour Party is still dominated by New Labour. I see that there are proposals to dilute the membership of the Labour Party in the country, making it more populist rather than more democratic, which is what it needs to become. Do the LRC and the Labour Left generally intend to make any response to the continued domination of Labour by the Right? Have we given up all hope of an authentic socialist democracy ?

What I believe we need now is an explicit rejection of the politics of New Labour. An abandonment of the UK’s involvement with NATO and all that imples. A rejection of the economics of neoliberalism and its social consequences for the working class, the trade union movement, the unemployed and the sick and disabled. A campaign for an authentic social democracy. There should be no ambiguity about what the Labour Party stands for. The restoration of the welfare state and the defeat of reaction. People are waiting for some leadership from Real Labour. Let us provide it.

Does the Labour Party now support the Tory policy of ‘free schools’ ? Was I out voted ? I don’t remember that. What is going on ?

I am very surprised not to have received a reply to this post yet. This does seen to be a very inactive discussion forum. Perhaps if non-LRC members were able to post here, which is not unusual elsewhere, a more lively debate would follow. Please consider this.
