If you have 90 minutes to spare, this is a must see documentary made in 2006 that highlights the devastating effects of the IMF, World Bank, WTO, Globalisation and the New World Order on developing countries as told through the experience of former Socialist Prime Minister Michael Manley, the ordinary people, farmers, and workers who are the victims of this story of predatory capitalist oppression and expoloitation.
Following independence in 1962, Jamaica found itself in difficulty after an oil embargo. In order to recieve loans from the IMF, the small island of Jamaica was forced to remove protective trade restrictions and compete with the world on “a level playing field”. It soon found itself flooded with foreign produce, while the IMF tightened its stranglehold, devastating the Island and its people economically and socially.  [continue/comment...]
